The summer months open an enormous window of opportunities to roam the earth and detach from society. Through the sunburn, sweat, and blisters, I can't think of a place that brings me more peace than the mountains. The thing I look forward to the most during the long Albertan winter is the warm summer winds and fresh air that refresh the body and mind.
It seems only fitting with this warm weather that this weeks blog post be about summer. Last year I took Shelby on an adventure through Wilcox Pass. A short 5 hour drive from Edmonton, or a one hour drive from Jasper. Perfect for a day trip if you're already in the area. Driving the Icefields Parkway is an experience in itself.
Here are some photographs from our day to entice you to go.
Shot with my Voigtlander Vito B on 35mm film.
We are so lucky to have this in our own backyard. These mountains are part of the reason why I would be so hesitant to move out east for work.
